Who Are We?

Blue Marble Solar was created to provide Charleston and the Coastal South Carolina region with local solar energy expertise. Our goal is to provide our customers with the absolute best products and services necessary to meet all of their solar energy needs. We strongly believe that development and deployment of solar energy systems is one of our nation’s best paths to energy independence. Our aim is to make this belief a reality.

Our Team– Blue Marble Solar’s President and CEO is Donald Zimmerman. Don is a technology veteran who has worked in the photonics industry for over 24 years. After a ten year period at AT&T Bell Labs designing fiber optic systems, Don co-founded the optical amplifier division of JDS Uniphase. After building that highly successful business with JDSU he decided to turn his attention towards the sun, solar energy system analysis and design. Through his company, Light Systems Associates and at AT&T labs, Don has helped many to determine how to best utilize solar energy in their businesses and homes.

The Blue Marble Solar deployment team is spearheaded by Dennis Oullette, a forward thinking, 20+ year construction industry veteran. He has amassed a team of talented trades people whose experience in high-end homes and commercial projects is second-to-none.
